Wetherspoon Opening Date Confirmed at Manchester Airport: The Belle Vue Comes to Terminal 2
Manchester Airport's first ever JD Wetherspoon pub, The Belle Vue, is set to open in the Terminal 2 departures lounge on 15 September. Here is what to expect from the sport-themed pub, why it is named after the city's historic showground, and which airlines fly from Terminal 2.

Manchester Airport is getting its first ever JD Wetherspoon pub, and the opening date has now been confirmed. The chain will open The Belle Vue in the Terminal 2 departures lounge on 15 September, according to the Wetherspoon website, giving travellers a sit-down pub option after security in the airport's largest and newest terminal.
When Does The Belle Vue Open?
The pub is due to open on Monday 15 September 2026. Wetherspoon confirmed earlier this year that it would take a unit in Terminal 2 and had pencilled in September for the launch, and the group's own website now lists the mid-September date. As with any new opening, it is worth allowing for last-minute changes, so check before you rely on it for an early flight.

Why It Is Called The Belle Vue
Stop overpaying for airport parking. Compare prices across all UK airports and save up to 60% when you book in advance.
The name is a nod to one of Manchester's most famous lost landmarks. Belle Vue was a Victorian showground in the east of the city that, at various points, housed a pub, zoological gardens and a stadium with greyhound racing and speedway. It remained a focal point of social life in Manchester right up until 2020, when the final event was held at the venue.
The 338 square metre pub, which will have more than 300 covers, takes its design cues from the history of Belle Vue and the wider sporting culture of the North West. Wetherspoon has leaned into that theme throughout the space.
What It Will Look Like
Artist's impressions of the space show a clubhouse-style design that blends classic and modern features, with sports memorabilia lining the walls. The renders reveal a long central bar under globe pendant lighting, banks of booth and table seating, and display cabinets and honours boards referencing local clubs and sporting events. It is a noticeably different look from a standard high-street Wetherspoon, pitched to match the scale of Terminal 2.
Part of Terminal 2's £1.3bn Transformation
The pub is one of a string of new food and drink units opening as part of Terminal 2's ongoing £1.3 billion transformation, which has expanded the terminal and reshaped its retail and dining offer.
Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, said earlier this year: "We're very excited to be able to reveal more detail about Terminal 2's new JD Wetherspoon pub The Belle Vue, which will encapsulate the spirit and traditions of sporting entertainment in Manchester. This will be the first JD Wetherspoon pub at Manchester Airport and it is fantastic to have yet another household name taking its place among those opening units in the terminal, as part of its £1.3bn transformation."
